Guided tour. The GR20 is known as the toughest hiking trail in Europe. Walking by the wild paths of the GR20, we climb through the massif of Renoso and find ourselves each night in a comfortable gite or small mountain lodge. An original way of discovering the natural areas crossed by this famous trail.

Program of your guided tour in Corsica

Day 1 - Sunday: Refuge de Prati
You meet your guide early in the morning in Ajaccio. First steps on the GR20; we walk up to join the refuge of Prati. We continue on the ridge and overlook the Mediterranean Sea. We arrive to the gite of Verde where we spend the night.
Duration: 5 hours / Up: +550m / Down: -550m

Day 2 - Monday: Pozzi du Renoso
On our way to the refuge of Capanelle on the GR20, we'll do a short detour to see the famous "Pozzi du Renoso": small streams, meadows, trees and bushes, it is a true paradize that you don't want to miss. We hike back on the GR20 to join our refuge for the night.
Duration: 6 hours / Up: +780m / Down: -480m

Day 3 - Tuesday: Monte Renosu and Bastani lake
Entering a high mountainous atmosphere while starting the ascent of Monte Renoso via the crests: it is the highest summit of South Corsican, which peaks at 2357m. Panoramic view over the Tyrrhenian and Mediterranean Sea. Descent via the Bastani lake. Night at the gite of Capanelle.
Duration: 5 hours / Up: +770m / Down: -770m 
This ascent might not be possible due to weather or security conditions. The guide remains the only judge of the decision.

Day 4 - Wednesday: Les Pinzi Corbini
We walk on a barely visible path between the Pinzi Corbini towers of granite; this stage allows a magnificent view over the ponds of Diana and Urbinu. We finally reach Vizzavona via a twisty path.
Night at the gite of Vizzavona.
Duration: 5h30 / Up: +560m / Down: -940m

Day 5 - Thursday: Palmente Pass
We go back on the GR20 to reach the Palmente pass to enjoy the panoramic view over the East coast of the island one last time.

Duration: 5 hours / Up: +810m / Down: -810m

Day 6 - Friday: Les cascades des Anglais ("the English Waterfalls")
Ascent of the "Ceppu" summit and visit of the sheepfolds of Tortettu. Descent in the valley of Agnone and bathing stop at the famous "Cascade des Anglais". Return to Ajaccio in the late afternoon.
Duration: 3 hours / Up: +410m / Down: -410m

This day-to-day program is given as an indication of the stages. It can be modified or reversed (North to South) depending of the weather conditions, technical criteria (snow...) or physical condition of the group. The guide remains the only judge and can adapt the program for safety reasons.

Practical information

Level: Medium. The average duration of the stages is 5 hours, with a daily ascent less than 600m.

For who ? A good physical condition is necessary to benefit from your stay. You are used to hike (2 or 3 times a month) and are not afraid to walk several days in a row or climb a good slope from time to time.

- Pick-up charge from the meeting in Ajaccio to the end of the trek in Ajaccio
- Transfers
- Full board from day 1 for lunch to day 6 after lunch
