GR20 South or North ?
In Corsica we usually say that there are no easy hikes. The GR20 South may be the less difficult part of the trail, but it does not mean it is easy either! It remains a sporty itinerary, on a rocky and very steep terrain. Let say that the southern part could be a good start if you are not sure of your ability to complete the trail.
Hikers often ask us which part is the most beautiful: well, it is hard to say as it is very subjective. I would tell you that the Northern part is more mineral and craggy, maybe more impressive with the passage at the "Pointe des Eboulis" and the climb to the highest summit of the island, the Monte Cinto.
But not to be outdone, the Southern part has more varied and soothing landscapes: lakes, forests, pozzines, plateau du Cuscione, the Bavella Needles... There is something for every taste! Stages are a little bit longer than on the north, but the terrain is less steep and uneven.
